Today I'm going to show you how to make Lahori fish fry.I patted the Lahori fish dry before cooking it. I'm going to make thick fingers out of them now.I used Basa, but you could also use Cod, Sole, or Sea Bass.I'm going to put it in a bowl right now. Now it's time to get started with the Lahori fish batter. For binding, I'll start with roasted Chickpea flour and then Corn flour. After that, I'll add Rice Flour. Once the fish is cooked, rice flour will give it a lovely crispiness. First, I'm going to add Chilli Flakes to the masalas.Red Chilli Powder (Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder) - I'm using Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder. powdered turmeric.After that, I'll add coriander powder.I'm going to add the carom seeds now. Cumin powder that has been roasted.For added flavor, use dried fenugreek leaves.With that black pepper powder, to be precise.And there's salt. Let's combine everything now.I'm going to add 1 tbsp. of ginger-garlic paste now.I'm going to add 3 tablespoons of curd to that.If you're going to add curd, make sure you fry the fish right away. If you want to cook the fish later, I recommend using malt vinegar.Finally, I'll drizzle some mustard oil on top.The fish will have a beautiful crispness as a result of this.
Now we'll combine everything once more. After you've combined all of the spices,To achieve a thick consistency, I'm adding water at regular intervals.I'm going to give it a little extra water. My batter is ready, and we're hoping for a consistency like this.After that, I'll dip my fish into the batter. I'm going to turn on the gas and heat up the oil before I mix the fish with the batter, so that by the time my fish is coated in batter, the oil will be ready as well.Now, combine the fish into the batter, being cautious to do so with a light hand because fish are sensitive creatures. I've done a good job of mixing the fish into the batter. Now I'll give the fish a few minutes to rest.After the fish has rested for a few minutes, I'll begin the frying process.Let me share some fascinating information with you. In Lahore, people cook this fish in leftover oil because they believe it adds a lot of flavor to the fish. My fish has developed a beautiful golden color.I'm going to take it out now and put it on a paper towel.Our lahori fish is now suitable for consumption.I'm going to top it with some Chaat masala.
